PENDORING’S AWARDS EVENING A FEAST OF SOUTH AFRICAN CREATIVITY

These are some of the highlights for the 19th Pendoring gala event scheduled for 20 September 2013 at the CTICC (Cape Town International Conference Centre), which promises to once again be an unforgettable night of top class entertainment.

This glittering and prestigious gala event is a highlight on the advertising calendar and will once again form part of Creative Week Cape Town. It is expected that representatives of the advertising, marketing and media industry will once again flock to Cape Town in large numbers to attend this week-long creative bonanza.

“Every year the Pendoring Advertising Awards honour the best and most outstanding Afrikaans and truly South African advertising in any of the eleven official languages. This year’s theme is ‘Respect’, a fitting tribute to agencies and companies that dare to walk the long and winding road to deliver work of exceptional quality,” says Pendoring’s general manager, Franette Klerck.

Besides creatives of the best Afrikaans and truly South African advertising walking away with fat cheques, and many trophies and certificates, Ads24’s Afrikaans T-shirt-competition winners for agencies and design studios will also be announced, with great prizes to boot!

As usual, the overall winner of the Pendoring Prestige Award will receive a bag full of prizes, including the big golden Pendoring trophy, a category prize of R6 000 and an overseas study tour worth R50 000. Winners of silver Pendorings will receive R2 000 and a silver Pendoring trophy.

The advertiser of the winning entry in the Afrikaans radio category will win free airtime worth R150 000 from Jacaranda FM as well as R75 000 from Ofm, provided the advert was flighted on the relevant radio stations.

This year will be the second time that the Umpetha trophy will be awarded to the overall winner of the truly South African categories which includes a cash prize of R20 000.

The overall student winner will receive R10 000, in addition to the R6 000 that forms part of the category prize, and an internship with TBWA\ Hunt\Lascaris in Johannesburg, one of the country’s leading advertising agencies.

And to crown it all, the client of the Prestige award winner, will be receive a massive R2.2 million worth of free airtime/advertising space.
